Improving the Health of the Underprivileged Population with the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park

Current-2008-KPcen_307

The Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation would like to express our sincerest gratitude for all of the support that the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center has generously given to our organization, and also for the altruistic work they have done for the San Gabriel Valley and all of its residents.   The $10,000 Community Benefit Grant from the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center will be applied wisely and carefully for our Dental and Vision Mobile Outreach Program in the San Gabriel Valley between 6/1/2015 and 5/31/2016 by providing free, high-quality vision and dental services, oral hygiene education and eye glasses to homeless people in winter shelters and school children who do not have access to dental and vision care. Additionally, dental and vision examinations can improve their overall health by detecting chronic systemic diseases in the early stages. Patients who need follow-up will be referred to Tzu Chi’s or nearby facilities for ongoing care. We strive to work together with the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park to reduce health disparities and improve health of the communities we serve. CB awardees - Priority 1 Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation accepted the Community Benefit Grant from the Kaiser Permanent Baldwin Park in the Community Benefit Partner Reception on June 17, 2015.
